I wanted to remind everyone that the deadline to enter the StudioWed Luxury Wedding Giveaway is this Wednesday, April 1st. In case you haven’t read the details of what’s included in the wedding I wanted to highlight a few of the items:
Venue The Atlanta Botanical Garden has been so generous with their event space. The ceremony will take place in Mershon Hall which is a beautiful intimate space and will be perfect for a warm ceremony in January. The reception will take place in Day Hall and there’s so much we can do to this room to transform the space. But with our wedding giveaway the couple will be able to choose 4 wedding photographers to shoot their:
Engagement Session Rehearsal & Rehearsal Dinner Boudoir or Bridal Session Wedding Day and Day After Session or other wedding related event

Hello Michelle. I found your Blog from Ross’ site, I love your vision and the project you are doing in Midtown that Ross and others are engaged in. Much success!!!
Christian wanted to celebrate his 30th birthday like no other. So we designed and planned an unforgettable night for his friends and family. Dress code was black tie and the decor was all black and white. The event was held at the Ballroom at Twelve Atlantic Station Guests were welcomed with a black carpet marked with Christian’s monogram. The custom runner was created by I Do Originals. Here Christian opens the doors for his big reveal and to welcome guests. Cocktail Hour
The party was divided into 3 rooms. Because it was such a long event (7pm-1am) we wanted to keep guests engaged and interested to see what would happen next.
We started with the cocktail hour in the pre-function room. We showed a slideshow of Christian’s photos from the past 30 years on the flat screen TVs. The pre-function space also included a great outdoor patio which was perfect for the Spring weather we had. Food
The food was also part of the experience of the party. Not really food, but we did a martini ice luge with Christian’s monogram Endive Catering did a great job with all the food. Not only does the food taste fantastic but their presentation is always a work of art. Entertainment
Once cocktail hour was over we moved the guests into the 2nd room with the food and entertainment which included a live band. As you can see the ladies quite enjoyed the band! We also had casino tables to keep guests entertained I love the Old Hollywood look of this photo Dance Floor
Around 10pm we opened the 3rd room which was for the DJ and dance floor. We used Christian’s monogram again to project on the wall in this room. The Birthday Cake
Oh the birthday cake, definitely one of my favorite show pieces at the event! We hung a black crystal chandelier with white orchids hanging down over the cake table. We used a great geometric pattern to trim the cake which also matched the custom cake table linen. The cake sat on top of a sheet of glass with white flowers underneath. This cake table stopped guests in their tracks and they were taking pictures of it all night. The cake which tasted as good as it looked was done by Sugarplum Visions. Decor
The color scheme was black and white with a great geometric pattern. This year damask print is out and it’s all about the geometric pattern! The challenge of the decor was to make it modern and upscale without being too feminine. Christian was great about trusting me with the design and it was great to come up with ideas for decor that was fresh and different. White leather lounge furniture gave an alternative to regular table seating and really popped in the room.
I Do Linens custom made our table linens and even pillows for the leather couches. And the flower centerpieces done by Shosho Designs were stunning! This was such a fun event to design and plan especially because Christian trusted me to do what I do best and in the end everything came together nicely.
I just found out that my blog was listed on BrideTide.com‘s Top 100 Wedding Blogs to follow in 2009! It’s so wonderful to be recognized and I look forward to hopefully continue to bring you information and inspiration that serves as a resource for your wedding planning.
Hi there. I was researching all the new blogs I didn’t know about on the top 100 list and found yours. Will definitely be a regular here. Nice to meet you! Kristina
With only a little over a week left to enter the contest I’m trying to get the word out as much as possible. So let me know if you post about the giveaway on your blog so I can link to you for the mention!
And here is a teaser from Christian‘s 30th birthday party. I’ll be posting all the details next!
I posted a few weeks ago the Atlantan Brides sponsored Tejani jewelry event I attended at Geisha House. But I just had to share the professional photos to showcase the work of Chelsea Floral Designs, (a fellow StudioWed vendor). The team a Chelsea Floral truly outdid themselves at this event.
Filene’s Basement Running of the Brides event takes place tomorrow, Friday, March 20th in Buckhead. Doors open at 8:00 a.m.
For those that may not know, this bridal sale is held once a year and offers designer gowns at unbelievable prices. Some brides arrive the day before to camp out to ensure they will be one of the first to get in. Once the doors open brides run in and typically in less than 60 seconds the racks are cleaned out.
I plan to join in the madness and will be handing out treats to the brides in line. Is anyone in the Atlanta area planning on going?
For those who missed StudioWed on CBS Atlanta this morning, you can see it online here. Hope you like it and definitely let me know if you’re interested in scheduling a personal tour of the studio!
