Last year I had the honor and privilege of designing Cydney’s 1st birthday. I was beyond excited when her mom contacted me to design and plan her 2nd birthday! The design inspiration for the party came once again from Cydney’s party dress from Bloomingdale’s, as well as her favorite Sesame Street characters.

I am so in love with all the stationery items for the party, including the Sesame Street inspired invitation suite, with polka dot envelope liner, from Luxe Expressions

The party was held at a condo clubhouse in Midtown Atlanta. We covered the bar wall with a yellow and red “polka dot” pattern floating wall of balloons.

Vinyl decal graphics were used on the windows to add color with Cydney’s monogram and Sesame Street theme

We transformed a very adult clubhouse lounge to a child’s playroom with custom red, yellow, and blue table linens, pillows, and chair covers

Flower arrangements were in fun red pails with candy accents

The kids’ table included lunch bags decorated with bright ribbon and tags

Outside on the terrace with great views of Midtown Atlanta, we had lounge furniture with custom pillows, balloons, and flowers

We couldn’t forget the pool! Special terry cloth pillows were made to lounge by the pool.

All the stationery pieces were coordinated for the party, including napkins, favor tags, coasters, and drink stirrers

And, just in case the guests may have forgotten something at home, bathroom amenity baskets were stocked with anything they could possibly need for a swim birthday party.

Kara and John’s save the date and invitation suite was designed by Luxe Expressions. The letterpress design, featured a monogram and design motif that we used throughout the wedding day.

The reception took place in Day Hall at Atlanta Botanical Garden. I always love to transform a space. Here is the room before, as we started to set up.

Guests received escort cards with the couple’s design motif. Wedding day stationery was by Ink & Paint

The guest book incorporated the couple’s engagement photos from Blue World Studios

The reception tables were named after places that were meaningful to Kara and John

The table centerpieces incorporated a mix of low and taller arrangements in shades of purple by Shosho Designs

Loved their first dance, the lighting from Blue World Studios, was so magical!

The wedding cakes were truly works of art! This grooms cake football helmet is by Sweet Sensations

And the wedding cake, inspired by the invitation, was done by Sugarplum Visions

Dreamy Gelato & Chocolates provided custom chocolate truffles with the couple’s monogram

The lighting was beautiful, even from outside the venue

Kara and John made their exit with bubbles as their friends and family wished them well

I know many couples are traditional and don’t want to see each other before the wedding. But the First Look, is such a sweet, romantic moment the couple shares. And, it gives you time for photos without the pressure of getting to the reception which makes it much more relaxed. Here is Kara and John’s First Look in the Fuqua Orchid Center at Atlanta Botanical Garden.

The bridesmaids wore gowns from Kathlin Argiro.

As we left to go to the ceremony, it was literally a torrential down pour! Luckily Kara & John had a great attitude about it. I love this shot as they look out into the rain.

We wrapped Kara in a sheet so her dress didn’t get wet.

This week, I’ll be featuring the wedding of Kara & John, who won a wedding giveaway contest from StudioWed. All of the StudioWed vendors pitched in to make this wedding unforgettable.

Kara and John had a lot of family and friends travel to attend and wanted to make sure they spent time enjoying them before the wedding. A laid back, pre-wedding dinner at Gordon Biersch provided the perfect atmosphere to kick back and mingle with their guests.

Photographer, Andrea Taylor Studio, did such a great job capturing them like a fly on the wall, as they hangout at their favorite restaurant and then for a walk in the park.
