We had a fabulous time celebrating the release of Uptown Magazine‘s weddings issue at StudioWed in November.

A Divine Event catered the event with food that was visually appealing AND yummy!

It was the perfect girls night out for the Fox & The City event on August 12th at the Fox Theatre. The evening started with a pre-party in the Grand Salon and a hookah lounge on the terrace. Then we watched a screening of  Sex & The City and ended the night with an after party in the Egyptian Ballroom. Tasty Pastry and Lethal Rhythms were event sponsors and brought me on as the planner and designer for the event. I had so much fun working with a talented group of vendors on this project.

The hookahs were provided by Divan restaurant.

Of course you can’t have a Sex and the City party without martinis!

The grand Egyptian ballroom was the perfect space for the after party.

Event Rentals Unlimited provided our lounge furniture

I Do Linens provided all the gorgeous linen for the event.

Aesthetic floral and event artistry did a beautiful job with the floral design

Entertainment for the after party included 4 cabanas inspired by the 4 characters of the movie. The “Carrie” cabana had a shoe theme and featured Ann Roth shoes.

Of course the shoes were to die for!

The “Miranda” cabana centered around massage services

The “Charlotte” cabana had an art theme and featured the work of Tickled Ink Designs. They even had an artist in the cabana to do shoe drawings for our guests.

The event was a hit and  definitely a fun girls night out! Thanks to Janet Howard for stopping by to take photos for us.

I had the honor and privilege of planning the Atlanta  Say Yes to the Dress premiere party, sponsored by Brides, TLC, and Bridals by Lori. We had a very talented team of vendors to pull off this event. When our expected guest count doubled from 400 to 800 +, everyone pitched in to make this event a success!

Of course there were lots of gorgeous gowns!

The overall decor, by Creative Events by Sunflowers Decor was very clean and elegant to go with the grand space. Lots of white, brown, and green and hints of crystal.

Mike’s invitation set the tone for the party. It featured chocolate suede, with hints of red, and a modern monogram.

All the stationery was done by Lucky + Lovely, my corporate graphic designer. She normally focuses on corporate design, but was kind enough to help me out with the paper for the party.

The party took place in 2 locations, first we had the birthday dinner at Dolce.

The restaurant is beautifully designed.

Part 2 of the party took place in a VIP room at Ten Pin Alley. Guests invited were everyone from family, to elementary school friends, up to brand new friends. We wanted everyone to mingle and get to know each other so we played a few ice breaker games before the DJ started.

These ‘Dare’ cards gave guests a set of tasks to complete. The first person to complete all the dares, won.

The dare cards featured Mike’s monogram on the front.

For the second ice breaker, everyone took a color candy corresponding to how long they’ve known Mike. The first person who got all 4 colors by meeting guests who had known Mike for different periods of time won.

Instead of a regular guest book where people just sign their names, we did a Mad Lib guest book. People were really creative with these and they are much more interesting to read later.

The Mad Libs were placed inside a photo scrapbook.

Party favors included Mike’s favorite liqueur, Grand Marnier, with his monogram on the front.

And white chocolate truffles, again with his monogram, from Dreamy Gelato.

The flowers were to die for! Danny with The Savage Garden did a perfect job making the flowers interesting and full of texture, without being “girly”.

The birthday cake was a work of art from Sweet Sensations.

Danny made this gorgeous arrangement to hang over the cake.

And our own private bowling lane, which the guests loved!

We used the flat screens to display Mike’s monogram

and a photo slideshow of Mike throughout his 30 years

Everyone had a great time and it was the perfect event for Mike – laid back, full of thoughtful details, and fun!

I was so honored when my little brother, Mike, asked me to design and plan his 30th birthday. His only request is that I not make the party too “girly”!

The party was in February so we wanted the ambiance to be warm, luxurious and inviting. We chose a color pattern of garnet, brown, and creme brulee.

We decided on a ‘Hip Hop Glam’ feel for the party and here is the inspiration board I put together for the design.

Photographer, Ross Oscar Knight, did a photo session with my family and took these photos of Mike. These really inspired me for the party design.

For Natasha’s 30th birthday party, fashion was the central theme for the entertainment and party favors.

We used photos of the birthday girl to demonstrate the props and how to use the photo booth.

The guests really enjoyed the photo booth and it was definitely the hit of the party!

Then it was time for the fashion show to start! And believe me it was fierce!

If you remember Cydney’s 1st birthday, I’m sure you’ll understand why I was so excited when her mom,  Natasha, contacted me to design her 30th birthday party. Natasha is a true fashionista, so we designed a fabulous fashion themed birthday event for her.

The party took place at Geisha House. Although the venue is predominately red and black, we transformed the space to fit within the client’s purple and silver color scheme.

The guests entered the space and were greeted with a grand floral display

The birthday cake was a purse on top of shoe boxes with jewelry accessories – all made out of cake and sugar!

I wanted the cake table linen to resemble a red carpet dress with a long dramatic train

The front of the linen had purple trim and purple lace

We had a mix of guest seating including booths with purple sequin runners

White lounge furniture and lighted coffee tables allowed for comfortable informal seating for guests

We placed custom magazine covers of the birthday girl on the coffee tables

The buffet was set on these lighted acrylic tables

And I so loved the purple sequin hi-boy table linen!

Purple flowers and purple wax candle holders accented the tables.

One of my favorite Atlanta caterers, Endive, did a wonderful job (as usual) with all the food. The adults had a buffet
while the kids enjoyed a sack lunch which included mini chicken sandwiches, P&J sandwiches, chips, and fruit

Miss Pickle Press provided all of our coordinating paper items, from the napkins
to drink stirrers, as well as cupcake flags and favor tags.


Dreamy Gelato & Chocolates did THE most divine gelato cart


and custom monogram chocolates

The ‘Sweet Shoppe’ was a huge hit at the party
Haute Cakes did a fabulous job coordinating the candy with the party colors

The cupcakes from Sugarplum Visions finished off the sweets buffet

The birthday cake, also from Sugarplum, was divine, both in design and taste!

The flowers from Tulip accented the cake perfectly with fluffy peonies and blueberry strands

The party favors for the girls were pink monogram bags (from Madame Monogram) filled with goodies, and sports baskets for the boys.
The kids’ faces lighted up when they received these

Of course, the birthday girl had to have her very own special “smash” cake
And she did enjoy smashing it!
Happy 1st birthday Cydney! It was such a privilege to plan such a special occasion and work with a wonderful family. Thanks again to Andrea Taylor Studio for all the beautiful images and to all the vendors who pulled together to make this party a success!

My client wanted to make sure guests were entertained from start to finish, from the youngest to the oldest.

When guests first arrived they signed Cydney’s birthday jersey, (a way to incorporate her father who is a NFL player),
and they also wrote birthday wishes to be stored in a keepsake box for Cydney to read when she’s older
Next, guests were invited to our photo booth, which I wanted to look more like home than a typical booth. The photographer, Andrea Taylor Studio, shot photos of all the guests in our booth and the guests were able to go online to see them.

The adults were entertained on the outdoor terrace with a Nintendo Wii station
Board games

And Kourosh, a caricature artist, who did fantastic drawings of the guests on this custom pre-printed background


The kids had their own tent with lunch bags


Elegant Event Sitters did a great job watching over the kids with crafts, including making birthday cards for Cydney

as well as a build a bear craft

We also hired Bubbleman who captivated the kids with bubbles


and there was also a magician who started with a show

and ended with balloon art


Finally, you can’t possibly have a kid’s party without a bouncer! We had a castle bouncer that sat on the dock beside the lake

For the overall decor, we wanted a look that was stylish but still whimsical since it was a 1st birthday party. The color scheme of navy and fuchsia was already dramatic, and we used that to set the tone of the decor.
We started with custom linens by I Do Linens. Tamara did a fabulous job creating linens that were polished but still fun.
Just look at these chair caps!

She also created a cake table linen that mimicked Cydney’s party dress, with hot pink tulle and a navy top
Pillows in our lounge area added the perfect pop of color on the white chairs, complete with Cydney’s monogram!

The flowers were absolutely to die for! Tulip completely captured my vision of fabulous flowers with fun elements like strands of blueberries

And the most adorable flower soda pops and cupcakes!


The adults had their own outdoor lounge area to watch the kids play on the dock below


Drapery from Event Drapery added a burst of color to completely transform the terrace

And of course we couldn’t leave the kids out! They had their own tent right by the dock, with children tables, drapery, and custom linens.
