Going out to dinner with your girlfriends definitely makes for a great night, but there are times when you just want to do something different. For those of us who love beautiful things but don’t possess the talent to create beautiful flower arrangements, the desert terrarium workshop was perfect!
We had the pleasure of visiting Forage & Flower for our workshop. Located in the center of Serenbe’s retail district, the floral and botanical design studio specializes in fresh designs with layers of texture, unique exotic florals and customizable containers. Co-owner Melanie Deyton led us in a demonstration and then let us loose to create our own terrarium using a variety of cactus and succulents.
Our class was full of fun an laughter which made for a perfect girls day. The desert terrariums feature drought tolerant cacti and succulents and thrive in sunny, dry areas. They thrive on windowsills and in bright rooms. They require water every 2 – 3 weeks so they are the perfect low maintenance accent to your home. Which is a huge plus for busy summers!
Think this terrarium class might be perfect for your next party or girls night? Definitely check out Forage and Flower’s website for their next workshop series. Or reach out to your local florist to see if customizing a class is something they can offer. You’ll make memories for a lifetime and you’ll enjoy learning something new together.
